The Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP)

What Does IOP Look Like?

The Intensive Outpatient Program is for individuals who need a greater level of support to maintain substance recovery. It is a program that can provide an alternative to inpatient substance recovery treatment.

The IOP’s philosophy is to work in partnership with the whole person using the Bio-Psycho-Social approach and the Twelve-Step recovery model, which includes:

  • A structured group counseling program, 6-8 weeks in duration, meeting three times weekly for a minimum of nine hours per week that focuses on strategies to increase motivation for recovery
  • Weekly Urine Drug Screening
  • Individual counseling, as needed
  • Involvement of family members or significant others to help aid your recovery
  • Psychiatric and medical services through CBH or outside referral, if needed
  • Case management services, if needed
  • Crisis Services available 24/7 at 757-378-5555
