Adolescent Substance Use Disorder Services

Adolescence is a time of rapid growth and change. While this time can be exciting, it also is a time when risky behaviors can occur. Adults with substance addictions frequently report that their use began in adolescence. Adolescents impacted by substance use disorders and their families require comprehensive services to address ever-changing treatment needs.

Service Options

  1. Assessment - includes a thorough assessment by a licensed professional of substance use issues as well as mental health and developmental issues
  2. Counseling - individual, family, and group counseling that improves living skills and addresses recovery issues
  3. Short-Term Crisis Counseling - for adolescents and families experiencing immediate distress due to substance use disorders and co-occurring issues
  4. Intensive In-Home Services - supporting and empowering families in the home to address substance use disorders and develop supportive recovery environments
  5. Psychiatric Services - psychiatric and medication support services for co-occurring disorders
  6. Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - a program for children and adolescents and caregivers of children and adolescents who have experienced trauma
  7. Case Management - helping families meet the needs of their adolescent in their home with resource development
  8. Prevention - substance use disorder and violence prevention groups are offered in area schools and community settings
  9. Greater Williamsburg Child Assessment Center - behavioral health assessments and resources for families
