Outpatient Counseling for Children
What are Outpatient Services?
Outpatient Services include individual, group, and family therapy.
How does the program work?
In most cases, counseling is short-term and family-centered, and focused on improving the child's or teen's functioning. Issues that benefit from this approach are aggression, defiant behaviors, school problems, trauma, anxiety, depression, and family disruptions such as divorce and bereavement.
What services are provided?
A family meets with a licensed therapist who gathers information, helps the family assess problems and needs, and assists the parents in developing a treatment plan for their child. The licensed therapist may also make referrals for other supportive services to benefit the child. Ongoing outpatient services may include individual, family, or group therapy.
