Employee Assistance Program
Description of Services
Employee Assistance Program services are provided to individuals with mental health and/or problematic substance use behaviors. Services are generally provided on an hourly basis, once per week, through group or individual counseling. Employee Assistance Program services typically last one to five sessions and include assessment, referral, and/or brief therapy treatment. Accommodations are made to serve individuals who have disabilities or other special needs.
Program Goals/Objectives
The goal of Employee Assistance Program services is to improve functioning or change behavior in those individuals identified as beginning to experience problems, symptoms, or behaviors that, without intervention, are likely to result in the need for treatment. The objectives are to evaluate the individual's clinical and support needs, provide early intervention utilizing brief goal oriented techniques, and refer to the most appropriate services if further interventions are necessary.
