Psychiatric Services Overview

What are Psychiatric Services?

Psychiatric Services provides an array of services to individuals (aged six and above) that live with mental illness, substance use disorders, developmental disabilities or mental illness with a co-occurring substance use disorder.

Services include psychiatric evaluation and medication management as a way for individuals to maintain personal recovery and self-determination.

Who Provides this Service?

A team of licensed psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners provide medication services.

Our team of licensed nurses provide ongoing disease and medication education, administering of long acting injections (prescribed by CBH providers), as well as assisting in the coordination of care and linkage to appropriate services.

How Does this Work?

New clients will meet with the provider for a one hour, in office evaluation for an assessment. Once this is done, the client and provider produce a person-centered treatment plan that is best suited for each individual's needs.

After the initial appointment, clients may choose between in office or tele-health appointments for ongoing medication management.

These appointments are held at least quarterly, or more often depending on the individuals’ symptoms and needs.

Who is Eligible for this Service?

Any individual who has had a comprehensive needs assessment at intake and who may benefit from a psychiatric evaluation and potentially medication management.

The individual must also be actively engaged in another CBH service such as Outpatient Counseling, Case Management, Mental Health Skill-Building, DD Day or Residential Services in order to be referred to psychiatry services.
