The Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP)

What Does IOP Look Like?

IOP is for individuals who need a greater level of support to maintain substance recovery. IOP can be the first step individuals take towards recovery or can be used as a support for individuals following inpatient substance use treatment. IOP is an ASAM 2.1 level of care and a co-occurring enhanced program, meaning we routinely provide services to individuals with more serious mental health conditions through individualized treatment planning and assessment.

IOP’s philosophy is to support the whole person through a collaborative approach, using the Bio-Psycho-Social model, the 12-step recovery framework, and other abstinence-based recovery models, which includes:

  • A structured group counseling program, 6-8 weeks in duration, meeting three times weekly for a minimum of nine hours per week that focuses on strategies to increase motivation for recovery
  • Weekly urine drug screening
  • Individual counseling, as needed
  • Involvement of family members or significant others to help aid your recovery
  • Psychiatric and medical services through CBH or outside referral, if needed
  • Case management services, if needed
  • Crisis Services available 24/7 at 757-378-5555
