SBIRT-Youth (Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment) is a SAMHSA evidence-based practice to prevent and reduce risky substance use among adolescents ages 12 to 18. The SBIRT-Youth model seeks to expand services for youth who have not yet advanced to addiction but are still engaging in risky behavior or early stage of substance involvement.
